JD Goulbourne is a contemporary abstract artist whose practice explores the darker and more complex dimensions of the human psyche. Working primarily in oil, pencil and charcoal, his work examines themes of identity, isolation, loss, dissociation and the emotional states that exist beneath the surface. Through expressive mark-making, layered textures and fragmented forms, Goulbourne translates psychological experiences into raw, emotionally charged compositions.
