Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@withsoomi.com.

1. Scope and platform role

You bring the buyer or enquiry. SOOMI provides a hosted page, Stripe-supported checkout, order record and delivery workflow. We do not list work in a selling marketplace and do not promise demand, enquiries or sales.

When checkout is available, the sales page and checkout identify the seller of record, SOOMI’s platform role and the seller’s responsibility for the sale and applicable consumer rights. SOOMI does not hold artist proceeds in escrow or provide a regulated payment service.

2. Your seller promises

  • You are at least 18 and legally entitled to sell the work.
  • The work is authentic as described, available, lawfully owned, and not subject to an undisclosed finance, lien, consignment or third-party claim.
  • The images, dimensions, materials, edition details, condition, price, location, taxes, shipping limits and lead time are complete and accurate.
  • You will disclose whether you act as a trader or private seller wherever this affects the buyer’s rights.
  • You will not sell prohibited, stolen, counterfeit, unsafe, sanctioned or rights-infringing work.

3. Fees and payment

The SOOMI success fee is 10% of the artwork subtotal for an order completed through SOOMI unless a different fee is shown and accepted before publication. Shipping, tax treatment, payment processing and any refund allocation are shown separately where applicable. Amounts are recorded in the smallest currency unit.

Stripe processes the buyer’s payment and connected-account onboarding. Payment methods, including Klarna, are conditional on country, currency, amount, buyer eligibility and Stripe approval. You authorise deductions and reversals necessary for agreed fees, refunds, disputes, chargebacks and legally required adjustments.

4. Fulfilment, evidence and delivery

You must package the work professionally, use suitable insurance and tracking where reasonably available, dispatch within the stated time, and preserve condition, packaging, handover and tracking evidence. For collection or hand delivery, use the secure collection route supplied by SOOMI.

Payment status and fulfilment status remain separate. Marking a payment as successful does not mean the artwork was dispatched or delivered. Tracking, buyer confirmation and other records may be used for support and dispute evidence.

5. Direct receipt and payouts

Artwork payments are direct charges on your connected Stripe account. The proceeds, less SOOMI’s application fee and Stripe’s fees or adjustments, belong to your connected balance; SOOMI does not hold them in escrow or release a later transfer.

Stripe and your connected-account settings control balance availability, reserves and payout timing. SOOMI does not promise a payout date and cannot issue an artist payout from the platform balance.

6. Buyer rights, cancellation and returns

You are responsible for legal duties that apply to you as seller, including pre-contract information, delivery, cancellation, returns, refunds, faulty or misdescribed goods, tax and customs. Consumer rights differ according to the buyer’s location, your status as a trader or private seller, and whether the work is genuinely made to the buyer’s specification. Do not describe an existing original artwork as bespoke merely to avoid a cancellation right.

You must cooperate promptly with an issue, return, refund, chargeback or evidence request. These terms do not remove a buyer’s statutory rights or lawful rights through their card issuer or payment provider.

7. Taxes, insurance and records

You remain responsible for tax registration, VAT, income reporting, customs, export controls, artist resale right and insurance that apply to you or the work. Keep listing, buyer communication, provenance, condition, shipping and tax records for the legally required period.

8. Acceptance and changes

You accept these terms at artist signup and confirm listing-specific facts again before publishing a sales page. A new version may require renewed acceptance. The Platform Membership Terms, Privacy Notice and Buyer Terms also form part of the relevant workflow.
