ARTIST STATEMENT
My practice investigates the unstable relationship between the body and identity through painting.Usually, I create 2-4 pieces at a time as a series/unit, and crying characters and front-facing signatures are my signature features.
Rather than depicting the body as a fixed biological form, I approach it as a psychological landscape where memory, perception and emotion continually reshape physical presence. Faces dissolve into multiple viewpoints, anatomical fragments merge with symbolic imagery, and gestures become traces of internal experience rather than representations of reality.
Working primarily with oil and acrylic, I embrace painting as a process of accumulation and interruption. Layering, scraping and repainting are not simply technical decisions but ways of allowing uncertainty to remain visible within the image. The material surface records hesitation, revision and transformation alongside the painted figure itself.
Recurring symbols—including eyes, mouths, moons and fragmented anatomy—operate as visual languages rather than illustrations. They suggest states of observation, vulnerability and reconstruction while resisting fixed interpretation.
Rather than presenting complete narratives, my paintings invite viewers to navigate unstable spaces where psychological and physical realities intersect.
