ARTIST STATEMENT
Painting is my vital medium for processing existence, translating complex emotional landscapes, and reflecting on the intricate interplay between humanity and the natural world. My creative practice is a balancing act between dynamic motion and intentional design, resulting in abstract works that speak to themes of personal growth, resilience, and transformation.
Guided by an inquisitive and passionate spirit, my visual language bridges the boundary between abstraction and impressionism. I am deeply informed by the expressive forces of nature and heavily inspired by the foundational philosophies of masters like Joan Miró, Wassily Kandinsky, and Pablo Piccaso.
Materiality, Sustainability, and Texture
The physical surface of my work is a crucial narrative element. I construct tactile, multi-layered canvases by integrating bold brushstrokes and vibrant color palettes with physical materials. By embedding textiles, delicate embroidery, and sustainable, recycled elements directly into the paint, the artwork transcends two dimensions. These textures act as a physical history of the piece, grounding abstract concepts into tangible form and reinforcing a steadfast commitment to ecological consciousness.
Art in Movement: The Intersection of Textile, Fashion, and Migration
For me, canvas is just the beginning. I view textiles not merely as a medium, but as an extension of the human experience. This philosophy drives my work into the realm of fashion, creating “Art in Movement.” By translating my original abstract patterns onto fabric and haute couture garments, the artwork is liberated from the static gallery wall. It becomes a living, moving canvas that mirrors the fluid nature of migration, adapting, traveling, and interacting with the rhythm of daily life and human expression across different borders.
The Migrant Perspective and Purpose
Born and raised in Argentina with Spanish and Swiss roots and currently working from my studio/gallery in Hilversum, Netherlands, my artistic journey is fundamentally shaped by the concept of migration. Moving across continents has deeply influenced my worldview, infusing my work with the unique resilience, nostalgia, and adaptability born of the migrant experience.
Encountering diverse cultures and witnessing universal social struggles worldwide has transformed my practice into a vehicle for advocacy. I treat my art as a powerful tool for promoting sustainability, social empowerment, and gender equality, firmly believing in the transformative capacity of creativity to cross borders and uplift communities.
Ultimately, each creation is a reflection of my past, a preview of my future, and an invitation to the viewer. If a piece can provoke a singular moment of quiet reflection or profound connection, it has achieved its truest purpose: leaving a lasting, meaningful impression.
