Rakasree Basu is an India-born film, television, and documentary producer and an multidisciplinary artist and curator based in Glasgow. Her paintings do not begin with subjects she wants to reproduce. They begin with an inner feeling—specific to a particular time, place, and emotional moment. Colour, pattern, texture and form emerge from that feeling, making each painting an emotional record: a trace of what she was carrying, remembering, questioning or becoming.
