ARTIST STATEMENT
For me, painting does not begin with an answer, but with a feeling. I am guided by color, form, movement and intuition. Images emerge during the painting process that I cannot always explain in advance. What begins as an idea or an emotional impulse may develop into something unexpected — a face, an encounter, a tension or a world that gradually reveals itself. The human figure is an important source of inspiration in my work. I am fascinated by what may lie behind a face, a posture or a gaze. Connection, intimacy, vulnerability and inner tension are
recurring themes. Sometimes the figures remain recognizable; at other times, they move towards abstraction. For me, it is in this space between the recognizable and the imagined that new possibilities emerge. Color is more than a visual tool. It can intensify an emotion, reveal a contrast or evoke a feeling for which words do not exist. Through layers, contrasts and visible brushstrokes, I seek to give
my work a direct, almost tangible presence. As a self-taught artist, I feel free to follow my own path without having to conform to a predefined style or method.
I want to keep experimenting, exploring and surprising myself. Each painting is a new discovery and an invitation to look beyond what is immediately recognizable.
I do not expect viewers to see what I have seen or feel what I have felt. My work is not a closed narrative. It can raise questions, invite different interpretations and touch each person in a different way. Ultimately, my work is not only about what is visible, but also about what may be sensed beyond it.
