Born in Paris into a family of artists and educators, Thyphaine Romeo likely owes much of her artistic direction—as well as her penchant for philosophical thought and the imaginary—to her mother, the abstract painter Jac Graal. A self-taught photographer from a very young age, Romeo initially pursued studies in music and later in pure mathematics; however, she abandoned her scientific teaching in 2008 to become a professional photographer
