Vassiliki Argyropoulou is an Athens-based visual artist working primarily with acrylics and palette knives. Through expressive portraiture, layered textures, and gestural mark-making, her work explores identity, emotion, and transformation, moving between figuration and abstraction. With a background in visual communication and over 18 years as a creative professional, her artistic practice brings together intuition and structure.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My work explores the space between emotion, identity and transformation. I am interested in the way experiences are carried within us, through the body, through memory, and through the way we perceive ourselves and the world around us. Working primarily with acrylics and palette knives, I build layers of colour and texture intuitively, allowing figures, landscapes and botanical forms to gradually emerge. I am drawn to the tension between control and spontaneity, between what is visible and what is felt. Painting gives me a space to move away from structure and follow instinct. Through each work, I explore moments of vulnerability, connection and change, allowing personal experiences to become something open enough for others to find their own meaning within them.
